4. Old Tapes and Interviews

Much of the sound material for the exhibitions is collected by asking the public which old tape recordings they still have in their possession. By means of a question form we determine the number of tapes and their general content. For, many people are about to throw these tapes away, often because they no longer have a tape recorder. By means of the filled in question forms we determine which material is interesting enough to be digitalised. This selection of tapes will be digitalised, when the owners give their consent. In this way, Sound Souvenirs contributes to the conservation and preservation of cultural heritage.
